In trades between China and ASEAN Countries, ASEAN has always been in a surplus position. Chinese officials repeatedly said that their hopes are still up for more ASEAN products that are popular among Chinese people and enterprises to enter the Chinese market.

Ever since the launching of the China - ASEAN Free Trade Area, the zero-tariff policy has been boosting the bilateral trade and economic to make rapid progress. It is learned that during the Canton Fair, known as the "barometer and wind vane” of the China's foreign trade, ASEAN products have vigorously made their way into the Chinese market

In the 3rd Phase the 110th Canton Fair continues to set up the International Pavilion. Different from the 1st Phase, where the major exhibitors are Microsoft, Wal-Mart, GE, Pepsi and many other European and American multinational companies, the 3rd Phase mostly held exhibitors from ASEAN, South Korea, India and other Asian countries or regions.

According to Huang Lixin, Director of Malaysia External Trade Development Cooperation, China has a huge potential market to be tapped into. And the Canton Fair is the strategic platform for Malaysia exhibitors to open up the Chinese and even international market. Therefore, the cooperation between their two enjoys broad prospects.

Huaxia Co., Ltd., a Vietnam Company specialized in paper bag products, has participated in many consecutive sessions of Canton Fair and has expanded their market share in China. Zhang Jin huo, The assistant general manager of Huaxia, said that out of consideration to expand the Chinese market, the company has set up three booths in the 1st Phase of the Canton Fair. As a result, many Chinese buyers have displayed their great interest toward their products, some of whom even signed contracts with Huaxia Company on the spot.



According to Zhang Jinhuo, thanks to the zero-tariff policy between China and ASEAN, the number of orders the company received from Chinese buyers has been on the rise. Although at present the company’s market share in China is not huge, as China and Vietnam further their bilateral economic and trade relations, he believes the market still has enough room for growth.

While referring to our good interaction with ASEAN at the Canton Fair, China's Vice Minister of Commerce Fu Ziying said that ever since the zero-tariff policy was implemented, the two sides have more broad prospects for cooperation, he welcomed more ASEAN investment and foreign enterprises to conduct business in China and to achieve win-win cooperation.
