We just published a sad story of a polish client getting 9 containers water instead of rapeseed oil. Today we receive another sad email, an Indian client was cheated by a Chinese scammer, they ordered A4 paper, but the supplier sent SAND and MUD.
The email itself made a story.
We had placed our order for 06-Containers for importing A4 Size Copy Paper of 70 GSM and 80 GSM – 03 Containers each on 23.03.2013 with our “OEM” printing of ream and carton cover packing on the subject Chinese Company.
We also paid them advance and made balance payment by T/T as mutually agreed upon between us. The Chinese Company arranged Shipment of all ordered 06-Containers thru’ a Shipping Company by name M/s Mitrans Container Line Co; Ltd. From Qingdao Port, China to Nhava Sheva Port, India accordingly.
On their arrival at Nhava-Sheva Port, India, we arranged due compliance of procedure of payments of Custom Duty, CFO, CHA etc. agencies charges and obtained delivery orders from the Shiping Company’s Agents here in Mumbai, India. However, on opening of all the 06-Containers it was that they contained only one row and column of A4 Copy Paper Cartons near the Doors of the Containers and behind this there were Polywoven Bags filled with Mud & Sand to make up for the weights of 20FCLs.
We also arranged for a Joint Survey of all six containers and a copy of the Survey Report is also attached for your kind perusal and further action. As against a total of 9,600 Cartons, we received only 579 cartons, rest all sand & mud. The Chinese Company has thus cheated us outright and also committed a Fraud.
We are now attaching herewith our complaint in the format as prescribed by your goodself under the head “TRADE DISPUTE FORMAT “ enclosing therewith copies of all relevant documents as required by you to pursue the matter with concerned Chinese Authorities.
We may also mention here that our order on the Chinese Company was for A4 Copy Papers with our “OEM” printing but what was seen was that the reams and cartons were bearing brand of “ACE” with marking of M.I. Indonesia (meaning Made in Indonesia). The China Council For The Promotion of International Trade (Hangzhou), China has also issued Certificates of Origin certifying the products as of Chinese Origin. We are also enclosing herewith copies (02) of C-O-Os issued by the China Council for your perusal and records.
Sir, we shall now be extremely grateful to you if you can pursue the matter with appropriate Chinese Authorities and help us getting our hard earned monies back. This is our “First” import and business deal with a Chinese Company and has possibly turned to be the last !! as we are now extremely scarred to deal with any Chinese Company lest we are cheated again !! In the above bargain we not only have lost our sizable monies by way payments to Chinese Company + Customs Duty + CHA + CFS + Shipping Company etc. charges but have lost our present as also future businesses and above all our goodwill in market. With our business contacts, we had planned to take this Copy Paper business to approx. 100 containers per month in next 4/5 months time and look at the jolt this Chinese Company gave in our maiden attempt !!
If you need any additional information than please do let us know and we shall try our utmost to furnish you the same ASAP but please help us and get us our monies back from this cheat company in China. We also understand that such fraud Chinese Companies have duped many of our Indian Companies in various trades like, Paper, Chemicals, Plastic Granules etc. etc. and something needs to be done so that Indian Business Community is not duped by Chinese.
Thanking you in anticipation,
For UTILITY ENGINEERS
